1Acceptance of these Terms
You enter into a binding agreement with APIKumo when you (a) sign in to the Service through any supported identity provider, (b) create or modify content within the Service, or (c) access any docs site published through the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” refers to that organization.
2The Service
APIKumo provides tools for sending HTTP requests, organizing them into collections, automating pre- and post-processing, and publishing interactive documentation. The Service includes, without limitation: a request editor and runner; a collection-and-environment workspace; a CORS-stripping request proxy; published documentation hosted on subdomains; an AI-powered docs assistant; and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint per published collection.
Specific features may be added, removed, or changed at any time during the Service’s preview period.
3Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms with you.
Accounts are created through third-party identity providers (currently Google, GitHub, and Discord). You are responsible for maintaining the security of the underlying provider account, and for all activity that occurs under your APIKumo account. Notify us promptly at the address in Section 17 if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not create accounts by automated means, share credentials, or attempt to access another user’s account or content.
4Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- attack, probe, or scan systems you do not own or are not explicitly authorized to test, including denial-of-service, brute-force, or credential-stuffing campaigns;
- transmit malware, ransomware, viruses, exploits, phishing pages, or other harmful payloads;
- access internal, private, or metadata network ranges (we already block known private and metadata hosts at the proxy);
- generate or distribute unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or sexually exploitative content, including content involving minors;
- process payment-card data, regulated health information, or other data subject to specific compliance regimes (PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.) unless you have a separate written agreement with us authorizing it;
- use the Service as a generic relay, anonymizer, scraper, or backend for unrelated traffic, including high-volume content distribution;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service’s source code, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
- circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat the rate limits, body size caps, content filters, or security mechanisms of the Service;
- resell or sublicense the Service, except for your end users consuming docs you publish through it.
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
5Request Proxy
The Service includes a server-side proxy that forwards HTTP requests you compose to destinations you specify. The proxy is provided for legitimate API testing and documentation purposes only.
You are solely responsible for the legality of the requests you send, the data you transmit, and your authority to call the destination endpoint. You will indemnify us for any claim arising from misuse of the proxy under Section 14.
Proxy traffic is subject to per-request body size caps, hard-coded allow lists for protocol, and dynamic blocks for private and metadata hosts. We may add further limits, throttle, or revoke proxy access for any account at any time without notice if abuse is suspected.
6Your Content
You retain all right, title, and interest in the content you create in the Service — collections, requests, environments, schemas, processors, custom scripts, descriptions, and the documentation you author (collectively, “Your Content”).
You grant APIKumo a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, display, render, and otherwise process Your Content solely as necessary to operate the Service for you and any users you intentionally share it with (including readers of docs you publish). This license ends when you delete the content, except for backups retained for a reasonable period and content that other users have already incorporated into their own work.
You represent that Your Content does not violate any third party’s rights and is not subject to confidentiality obligations that would be breached by storing it on a hosted service.
7Published Docs & Subdomains
You may publish a collection so that it is reachable on a subdomain of our hosted docs domain (a “Docs Site”). Each Docs Site is, by default, assigned a randomly generated subdomain. You may instead choose a custom subdomain, subject to availability, format rules (3–30 lowercase alphanumeric characters and dashes), and a reserved list (including www, api, app, admin, docs, mail, and others we may designate from time to time).
We may reclaim, rename, or disable any subdomain that (a) infringes a trademark, (b) impersonates another person or organization, (c) is used to distribute prohibited content, or (d) violates these Terms. Where practical we will give you notice and an opportunity to rename, but we are not required to.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you publish complies with applicable law, including consumer protection, advertising, export, and data protection laws in the jurisdictions of your readers.
8AI Features
The Service includes AI-powered features such as the docs chat assistant on Docs Sites and code-sample generation. These features rely on third-party large-language-model providers. Inputs and relevant context (the docs you have published, plus the question asked) are sent to the provider to generate a response.
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date. You should independently verify any output before relying on it for security, financial, medical, legal, or other consequential decisions.
You will not use AI features to (a) generate content prohibited by Section 4, or (b) attempt to extract the system prompts, training data, or model weights of the underlying provider.
9Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure and services, including identity providers (Google, GitHub, Discord), database and authentication services (Supabase), edge networking and content delivery (Cloudflare), and large-language-model APIs. Your use of these features is also subject to the relevant providers’ terms.
We do not control, and are not responsible for, the availability, security, or content of third-party services. Outages or changes by a provider may affect the Service.
10Free Preview & Availability
The Service is currently offered free of charge during a preview period. We may introduce paid tiers, usage limits, or feature gates in the future, with reasonable notice. Existing accounts will not be billed for past usage as a result of any new pricing.
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not commit to any service-level uptime, response time, support response, or data-retention guarantees during the preview. Maintenance, outages, and data resets may occur.
11Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and the content associated with it, contact us at the address below.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, presented a risk to other users or to our infrastructure, or used the Service to harm third parties. We may also terminate the Service itself with reasonable notice.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17) will survive.
12Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and continuity. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any content (including AI-generated content) will be accurate or fit for any particular use.
13Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will APIKumo, its affiliates, contractors, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenues, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Service.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100. These limits apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
14Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless APIKumo, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) Your Content, (b) your use of the proxy or AI features, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.
15Changes to the Service & to these Terms
We may modify the Service, including adding or removing features, at any time. We may also revise these Terms. If a revision is material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or by posting a banner in the Service) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in whichAPIKumo is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction for any dispute that cannot be resolved informally.
Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at the address below and attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith for at least thirty (30) days.
